Several Bollywood's bigwigs have been at the receiving end of troll and hatred since Sushant Singh Rajput's demise. As per fans, it was due to their alleged ill-treatment and favouritism that Sushant took such a drastic step. One such case is that of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has been constantly getting trolled, especially after Kangana Ranaut blamed him for contributing to Sushant's degrading mental health. Now, the Sadak filmmaker took to his Twitter and shared his two cents on how doesn't want the coming generations to remember him; however, trolls were rather interested in attacking him.

A while after Kangana Ranaut's explosive interview with Republic TV, Mahesh Bhatt tweeted, "True words aren’t eloquent; eloquent words aren’t true. Wise men don’t need to prove their point; men who need to prove their point aren’t wise.” In response to his tweet, fans didn't only hold Bhatt responsible for Sushant's death,  but they also asked him to break his silence and speak up. "Opponent's slander not affecting him is a different thing, but occassionally a wise man would choose to prove a point in order to educate the neutral audience who might fall into devil's trap if he chooses to remain silent," wrote a user.

Mahesh Bhatt then shared a throwback picture of him with a caption that read, "I don’t want posterity to remember ME at all.I don’t want the world to recall me as a holy man.U do everything to be remembered .U want airports,stamps, monuments in ur name.U do everything to just continue.Permanence is just not possible.The quest for permanence is man's tragedy." He was bashed this time as well.

For those unaware, Kangana, in her interview, had requested the Mumbai Police to summon the likes of Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra and Rajeev Masand. She further revealed, "Sushant's girlfriend at the time Rhea in her statement mentioned Mahesh Bhatt. How is he related' Bhatt's first AD has written how Bhatt used to consel him. Who was Mahesh Bhatt in Sushant's life' 'You are not drifting but drowning, like Parveen Babi', Bhatt's AD said that. Even Abhishek Kapur said, "His death was a complete dismantling of a fragile mind." Rajeev Masand called him a 'rapist', 'drug addict' in his blind items, aren't they accountable for their claims'."
